Salam Mezzlah

Foundation sire of our stud!

Successful in halter classes and endurance, coming ninth out of only 23 completions (86 starters) in his first attempt at the gruelling 400km Shahzada Marathon in 2002. He has also won and been placed in many 80 and 160km rides.

Last year on the racetrack, he won an invitation exhibition race over 1100 metres held at Horsley Park as part of the 2007 Silver Jubilee Australian National Arabian Championships. He won by over 3 lengths, breaking the course record. It was his first race in over 3 years.

He topped this off six weeks later by winning Best Condition and 1st Heavy Weight at Bendemeer 80km in a time of 3.51hrs. Visit the Mezzlah gallery for the photos.

Mezzlah has bred some wonderful youngstock for us over the last few years.

Suncrest Ghazaal

Suncrest Salaam

Our 2008 foals, S. Ghazaal (Arabesque Sheikh x Ghabra) and S.Salaam (Salam Mezzlah x Glenmar Silver Essence) are now big strong two year olds, both will make tall athletic endurance horses in the future!

Salaam is already well over 15hh and looks set to follow in her big sister Echo’s hoofprints.

S. Silver Echo (x Mezzlah) was sold and exported to the UAE during 2009 after a great start to her endurance career. At 7, rising 8, she was in her third season of endurance and with her big easy stride (she stands nearly 15.3) and great recoveries, she was cruising easily through her rides to the manner born. Salaam should be as good if not better than her elder sister.

Their dam, the lovely mare Silver Essence (herself an endurance winner in her day) was put to our young stallion Suncrest Noble Aenzac (Mindari Aeniad x Naqawah) for his `trial run’ as a colt – and we are thrilled with the result! (See S.Silver Eddy on our News page). A lovely tall dapple grey with very straight legs and flowing movement, with double Aethon lines from his sire, and a dam (Naqawah) who is a two-times national points winner, young Aenzac sired his first foal in the `natural’ way!

He was allowed to run in the paddock with Silver Essence, who did a great job of teaching him his manners. He is a very gentle fellow in any case, quite happy to be wormed, trimmed, or handled in the paddock, content with a gelding for company, or more than happy with a mare or two! We hope to cover two of Mezzlah’s daughters with him in the next season.
